inGroup Press publishes books with LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) characters and themes. We'd love to see your work, as long as it contains elements appropriate to our brand. This isn't the best place to submit your Country Western romance about Dick and Jane, unless Jane was born John, and the saloon just can't tell that she’s wearing a really great weave.

Submit work that's refreshing. Like every publisher, inGroup Press loves sales, but we also love books that are escapist, intriguing, and that don't have to be measured by numbers. Speaking about numbers, after you’ve submitted your query, proposal, and sample chapters, please don't blow up our phone number to track down your book. Give us two weeks to respond to queries, and up to three months for full manuscripts.

Please send us your query and sample chapters (up to fifty pages) at: query@ingrouppress.com. Book proposals (required for all non-fiction submissions) are encouraged as part of your submission package. The subject line of the email should read "Query – (Book Title)." Microsoft Word, with a normal 12pt font, is preferred. Please don't drive us crazy with a messy document.

We are currently only accepting electronic submissions. Don't forget to include your story's genre, its word count, and your publishing history. Unpublished authors are encouraged to submit.

And in the words of RuPaul: "Don't fuck it up!"

Currently Seeking:

#1 – LGBT YA/teen novels, dark and emotional to quirky and hilarious. Books with supernatural aspects are especially welcome. If—like us—you think "Twilight" is painfully heterosexual, and you've done your own take on gay teens and werewolves, then you should be sending us your polished manuscript.

#2 – Erotica novels and novellas for our Symbiont Books imprint. We are also in search of erotica writers willing to author books in a new, innovative collection from inGroup Press. For more information, send us an email with "Symbiont Books – (Your Name)" in the subject line. Include your publishing history and sample work, which could be a few chapters or a short story you're exceptionally proud of.

#3 – Compelling LGBT non-fiction.

Please Note: If you have a book that doesn’t fall into the categories listed in our "Currently Seeking" section, you're still welcome to submit! inGroup Press has eclectic tastes, and welcomes many genres.
